What a perfect timing it was to take a trip to the Yosemite National Park. In the refreshing wilderness I was, for a moment, able to forget about politics and all the other sorrows and stresses of life. I woke up as the sun started wrapping around mountaintops and the earliest birds started singing, stood on top of a mountain and thought Why are we making life more complicated than this?
I guess, not all humankind can start their mornings watching a sunrise on top of a mountain, but when you get the chance, clear your mind and remind yourself of the miracle of just existing on this planet.
Anyways, almost three days without phone or internet or any other connections to anywhere else but the people around you, was a great and rare experience these days. I got to photograph, hike, wander, draw and camp.
It's amazing what the altitude does to the temperature. In just 40 minutes, as we drove up to the mountains, the temperature dropped from 28 degrees celsius to less than ten. At night we even went fairly below zero. Luckily, this girl bought a beanie before the trip.
California is a strange, beautiful place!
